Jerry and Helen Marie Varner are proudly celebrating the 40th Anniversary of Mid America Stockyards in Bristow, Oklahoma. Mid America is a fourth generation owned and operated livestock auction featuring a cattle sale every Saturday as well as biweekly horse sales. Mid America averages 1100 cattle weekly with buyers from 5 to 7 states being represented. An average of 350 horses are auctioned off monthly with a trade area covering 150 mile radius. On any given Saturday you can find as many as 20 family members manning different positions during te cattle sale as well as operating the café and farm center, with the youngest members cleaning tables and learning to meet customers.

Various family members also operate several businesses in addition to their Saturday involvement including Varner & Varner Livestock Dealers, Varner Equipment Sales, Lisa’s Merle Norman, McNiel Estate Sales, Mid America Farm Center, Varner Spray & Weed Control and one is even an Oklahoma State Representative.
When customers come to Mid America for the first time they are guest but when they come after that they are family. This is the motto that has kept Mid America a family treasure.
